Jessica Simpson Addresses Use of Unconventional Vocal Remedy
Singer and actress Jessica Simpson has recently clarified her use of an unconventional Chinese herbal remedy that reportedly includes an extract derived from snakes. The discussion emerged following a video posted online, in which Simpson candidly discussed the mixture’s peculiar ingredients.
During the clip, Simpson explained that she was introduced to the supplement by her vocal coach, who recommended it to improve her vocal clarity during performances and tours. Describing the mixture as having a honey-like consistency, Simpson stated that the remedy was part of her preparation to ensure optimal vocal performance. It was only after her team researched the contents that she learned it contained snake-derived substances.
Despite widespread public reaction and some humorous skepticism from fans, Simpson maintained her stance when approached at Los Angeles International Airport. She reiterated that the supplement has noticeably enhanced her vocal quality, saying it “really clears [her] throat” and reaffirmed her intent to continue using it. She even joked about potentially creating her own version of the remedy in the future.
The practice of using animal-based ingredients in traditional medicine is not unprecedented, especially in Eastern medicinal traditions. However, it is worth noting that there is currently no established scientific consensus supporting the effectiveness of such ingredients for vocal enhancement.
Simpson’s comments sparked a variety of responses online, ranging from disbelief to light-hearted humor. Nonetheless, she appears undeterred by the attention, choosing instead to embrace what she claims works best for her vocal health.
